On the way home from Centennial Medical Center, I decided to do some mid month bottle shopping. Midtown Wine & Spirits was on the way home so paid them a visit. Just arrived is Rogue John John Dead Guy Ale. This is the first in a series where Rogue will take one of their high profile ales and age the batch in Rogue Spirits barrels. This particular batch of their Dead Guy Ale was aged in Rogue Whisky barrels. These are limited and sold in 22 ounce bottles. I love barrel aged beers, so I picked one up. If time permits I will write a review.
Also new is Dupont Foret, an organic Saison from Brasserie Dupont in Tourpes-Leuze, Belgium. These are the same brewers that product the legendary Saison Dupont . Less funky and sour than Saison Dupont, but with a little more clove phenols and yeast is how I would sum it up. If you like Saisons, this is definitely worth a try. A plus is that these are in 4 paks which are more conducive to single servings as opposed to the corked 750ml bottles.
A fresh shipment (bottled a month ago) of Avery Maharajah just arrived. A real treat for hop heads like myself, and the fresher the better. These have a short shelf life so get them now. You retailers, please keep these hoppy beers cold and away from light.
